Advanced Bushcraft Day
Learn how to survive out in the wilderness.
This is the follow on course from our very popular ‘Basic Bushcraft Day‘ and we would expect you to have a good knowledge of Bushcraft or have attended a previous BBDay.
The day will start with a safety briefing and an overview of the days activities around the camp fire with hot crumpets and jam with lots of tea / coffee, you will also be given your very own Mora Knife to use during the day that you will be able to take home with you afterwards. Your first activity will be learning how to filter and purify water using various methods, this will include collecting water from the trees / plants and from the use of the SUN. You will then have a chance to learn how to prep simple game; Fur, Feather and Scale, for your lunch, this you will cook on the open fire by Dutch Oven, Convection, Fry and by 1 Pot Wonders; this is great time to ask the trainers lots of questions and make new and long lasting friends.
After lunch you will learn about making natural cordage from the local plants and make a small leather tinder pouch, finally after a busy day you will learn about ‘Outdoor First Aid’ which is invaluable if you love the outdoor living. The day will close with your very own certificate of attendance and hopefully a list of new found friends.
Please bring with you a mug and a drinks bottle (not glass).
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable foot wear for outdoors.
